iPhone 14 Plus First Week Sales Disappoint

Big phone, bigger flop?

I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, but *shockingly* there’s another report of iPhone 14 sales disappointing analysts – this time it’s the iPhone 14 Plus.

In a new report from DigiTimes, we have claims that the iPhone 14 Plus sales are still “considerably overshadowed” by the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max even though the iPhone 14 Plus just launched last week.

Per the DigiTimes report, we have word that the sales numbers for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus as a whole are “remaining flat” and looking comparable to the iPhone 13 lineup as of the second half of 2021, considerably after launch.

This is of course the latest in a long line of reports saying the sales of the iPhone 14 lineup are disappointing at best – and Apple seems to be taken aback by the numbers as well. Apple already cut production lines for the iPhone 14 and repurposed them for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, clearly they anticipated to sell more non-Pro devices.

We also have seen reports that the iPhone 14 line, iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max notwithstanding, have already seen massive second-hand value drop off – with numbers dropping twice as fast as their iPhone 13 counterparts.

If you compare current sales trends of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus to that of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max (which are still on a two week shipping delay as of the writing of this article), it’s clear where customers are preferring to put their money as of now.

Let’s see if the winds change as the months go on, promotions are added, and the new devices settle in to retail outlets. Good luck, little guys.
