iPhone SE 4 Huge Changes: 6.1-Inch Display AND Notch

This is gonna be big.

We have a report from the ever-reliable, Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst, Ross Young who told MacRumors that he has some new expectations for the upcoming iPhone SE refresh… and they’re big.

Ross has informed MacRumors that he forecasts Apple to release the 4th generation of iPhone Se with a slew of changes, most notably with a 6.1-inch display and featuring a notch. The interesting thing about the new iPhone SE’s notch is that it may not feature FaceID… so that’s weird.

Both Ross Young and Ming-Chi Kuo have spoken to doubts that a revised iPhone SE model could instead feature TouchID integrated into the lock button akin to the iPad Air and iPad mini.

Even our own fearless leader, Jern Perser (Jon Prosser ((Jonathan Prossesser))) has spoken about an upcoming iPhone SE on the Geared Up podcast with Andre Edwards and Jon Rettinger:

The SE 4, from what I understand – and I don’t think I’ve said this publicly – is just the iPhone XR”

Jon Prosser

This move would make sense. The iPhone SE is always meant to exist as Apple’s budget iPhone option – just like the iPhone XR. Generally the design of the SE tend to lag a generation or two behind so it would make sense to finally catch the iPhone SE to the all-screen with notch combo.

Personally, I don’t care if Apple decides to attach a cup holder to the friggin’ iPhone SE as long as they maintain it as the budget device that still gets all the updates and doesn’t suck like other cheaper smartphones.

Just don’t screw this up, Tim. I am not in the mood for your shenanigans!
