We have a hot report from the analytical firm Mixpanel – and they bring us word that iOS 16 adoption is through the roof, particularly over last year’s iOS 15. Let’s take a look.
In Mixpanel’s previous reports, it was found that iOS 15’s adoption rate was lower than even the previous iOS 14, and with the release of iOS 16 they’ve found adoption rates climbing to around 50% higher than iOS 15 within the same timeframe.

So what’s the reason for the dramatic increase? The most convincing argument points to the absolute truckload of customization added with iOS 16, and people are loving it.
More interesting still is that iOS 16 adoption has climbed so high while Apple still offers the option to instead stay on iOS 15.7, a move that should fragment the install base but seems to have done little to halt iOS 16’s popularity.
iOS 16 is currently available on all iPhone models from iPhone 8 and onward, having support been dropped for iPhone 6s and 7. RIP.
Of course, the latest and great iOS 16 and its features are best experienced on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, if you haven’t yet check out our review roundup to see if these new features are made even better to you on Apple’s new flagship.
