In an interview with YouTuber Max Tech, Markus Gurmantus of Bloomberg and Harry Potter fame told us that Apple actually had a Mac Pro featuring the M1 chip ready to launch and ship to customers “months ago”… what happened?
Mark believes Apple had a fresh installment of the Mac Pro, with the M1 chip ready to f**kin’ ship, but then went “wait actually, what bout that M2 Extreme 👀”, and then canceled it. Oh yeah, Gurman also thinks we can expect the M2 Extreme later this year, so that’s cool.
It’s hard to imagine a current-gen Mac Pro given the existence of the Mac Studio, but hey everyone loves a good cheese grater, right?
Another notable discussion in his interview, Mark talks Mac mini for a minute: stating that aside from getting an M2 tune-up, we shouldn’t expect any design changes due to the mini’s similarities to the Mac Studio.
Yeah, great stuff Mark. You know another great place for Apple centric discussion? Genius Bar. Go on the show.
