Samsung has announced their new Unpacked event, where they will unpack some new foldy phones for everyone to see on August 10th. Not to be a wet blanket ruining the fun here, but does it seem like no one cares?
Back on Monday, July 18th, Samsung tweeted out three cryptic ass photos – hyping up something related to the unpacked event.
Now in my opinion that’s pretty cool! I love me some puzzles, especially when’s brands get playful – but at the time of publishing this article that tweet has roughly 900 likes… isn’t that a bit low for a global brand like Samsung?
The puzzle tweet went on to get solved, of course, and what we got was a proper date reveal of August 10th for their new Unpacked event.
The announcement has EVEN LESS engagement (as of publishing this article). Of course, this is just Twitter but these numbers do tell a story. Here’s last years Unpacked announcement tweet:
That’s a substantial difference.
This is not to say that Samsung fell off, no one likes their phones, etc.; however, you have to wonder why they lack engagement recently. Smartphone fatigue? People being bored of flippy foldy phones? Hard to say. Especially when the new unpacked event coming August 10th is shaping up to announce some seriously cool products like the new Galaxy Watch.
Either way I’ll see ya August 10th, be there or be square.
