You may or may not remember our leak of the colorful MacBook Airs; if not, I’ll link the eppy down below and you can read all about the exclusive here.
In a new tweet posted this week by Dylandkt, a leaker with a recently established track record of 81.3% according to AppleTrack.com, he says we can now expect Apple’s next-gen M2 processor to release “the first half of 2022 alongside the upcoming colorful MacBook (Air)” as the M1X will be reserved for the Pro Mac devices.
This comes after Bloomberg’s previous report about Apple’s plans to introduce its M1 successor with an updated MacBook Air, and corroborates our own leak about Apple’s plans to bring colorful options to the MacBook Air similar to the iMac.
To date, Apple has released only one chip under the Apple Silicon branding, with M1 appearing in the latest MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the Mac mini, and the new 24-inch iMac. The newest iPad Pro also uses the M1.
While other details of the next-gen MacBook remain unknown, in a note to 9to5Mac, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said back in March that the company plans to announce a new MacBook Air with a Mini-LED display by 2022, lining up with the latest tweet by leaker Dykandkt who projected the same timeframe of 2022.
