Apple Will Give Your Account to Someone When You Kick the Bucket

Screenshot of iCloud Legacy Contacts – Apple

As part of new changes to iCloud, at WWDC, Apple has announced two new Account Recovery features:

Account Recovery (when you’re alive)

You’re dumb. I’m dumb. We all forget our passwords.

With “Account Recovery”, Apple is offering you a new way to get back into your account. You’ll now be able to add people you trust to a Recovery List. Don’t worry, they won’t have any access to your account. Instead, if you’re locked out or forget your password, you can call them and Apple will provide them with a Recovery Code to read back to you. Entering this will get you back into your account with ease.

Digital Legacy Contacts (when you’re not)

This is the death one.

You can now add people to your “Legacy Contacts” list, and once you’ve passed away, those Legacy Contacts can then request access, and Apple will hand over your information and data. Might wanna delete your dick pics before you die…

Missed opportunity to call that one “DieCloud”

Rest in spaghetti, never forgetti
