Last week, Jon reported that even though it’s common for us to NOT get hardware at WWDC, you should still expect to see some this year. Exclusively reporting that he’s been told that Apple has scheduled a briefing with the press immediately following the event about MacBook Pro.
And as we always say on the show: You should never just take our word for it. If you hear similar info from other people that you trust, that’s a good thing!
Well last night, we got two new reports about this very thing. One, from Wedbush saying to expect a “surprise” MacBook Pro announcement during WWDC. Well, I mean, not so much of a surprise now-as Patently Apple pointed out:
Whether Ives is simply repeating Prosser’s prediction to his clients or has independent sources confirming this news is unknown at this time.

But, I would bet that Ives is going off of his own sources because Wedbush usually does have their own information. So no, we don’t think they’re just repeating our report.
Oh but wait, there’s more.

The glorious bastards over at MacRumors somehow spotted this filing pictured above in a Chinese regulatory database. The listing was submitted by an apple supplier and is for a battery carrying what they call an “Apple like model identifier, being A2527 rated at 8,693mAh” – which is similar to the current 16 inch MacBook Pro battery size.

They also found an additional filing pictured above for: “an entry for what seems likely to be the upcoming 14-inch MacBook Pro.”
Soooo safe to assume that this listing is attached to the new, upcoming redesigned 16” inch MacBook Pro and 14″ MacBook Pro respectively.
So we have all this, and you know what they say: Where there’s smoke, there’s a dildo. Or whatever.
