According to writer Conner Jewiss (good luck reading his name because I don’t know how to say it), an unverified source reached out to him and revealed some possible features coming to iOS 15. Now normally, this would not be enough for us to even accidentally write about this — but the info was also backed up by website iMore, citing their own sources.
According to Conner, he mentions seeing some elements of iOS 15. Like some UI tweaks for dark mode. Which.. what? What does that even mean? Can you tweak dark mode to be darker mode?
He also mentions tweaks for the Messages app. As well as new notification settings and look on the lock screen. I like how most of these so far are just “it will be different”.
Thank you?
Notably, though, he mentions a food tracking feature coming to the Health app. Connor doesn’t say much more about that – but iMore did dive a little deeper in their article, saying a source told them that Apple’s food tracking feature would be “akin to MyFitnessPal”
Here’s the full quote:
“My sources have since been able to expand on a couple of points. According to them, the food tracking in the iOS 15 Health app is akin to something users might already be familiar with – MyFitnessPal.”

With all the Apple hardware leaks that we’ve been getting over the last year or so, it’s impressive how secretive Apple has been able to be about iOS releases. They usually do come with a few surprises.
But, I mean, the software side of things is always more locked down and controlled than hardware. With hardware, you have many many many people working from many many many locations working on many different parts — there are just too many opportunities for information to get out to… certain people.
Whereas, new software releases can be much more contained and protected within smaller teams.
So, you may be getting a ton of leaks for upcoming hardware, but at least you can still be surprised by iOS 15 in a couple weeks!
