Twitter announced today that they are testing a new change to image previews on your timeline on both their iOS and Android apps. Usually, when you tweet an image, no matter what size it is, Twitter will only show a 16:9 preview of the image as someone scrolls by it. To view the entire image, the user would have to actually interact with your tweet, and we know no one cares about your tweets.
The new test, which begins rolling out today, features full-sized previews of images as you scroll by them. I’m not sure how I feel about this one, honestly. At least from the examples they’re showing, this looks pretty intrusive and Instagram-y, but I’ll save further judgement for when I see it myself.
